Frequently Asked Questions

What does the first session look like?

The first session differs from the others in several ways. After an introduction, we will discuss several organizational matters: confidentiality between the psychologist and the client, the price for the session and payments, the therapy process, etc. After the organizational matters and the introduction, we will get to know each other more and discuss what you are coming to us with. The session can therefore be a little longer than the usual 50 minutes. We will set the session frequency according to your options.

The easiest way is via mail or form. You may also contact us by phone.

How can I book a session?

Can I have the session reimbursed by the insurance company?

As we work privately, therapy cannot be covered by health insurance. We accept payments in cash and on account.

Is therapy or coaching for me?

Therapy or coaching can help everyone who is looking for a way to fulfill their goals, clarify decisions, solve difficulties or want to develop their skills. Basically, it is for everyone.

What is the difference between a psychologist, a therapist and a psychiatrist?

Psychiatrist(MD) can diagnose and prescribe medication.

Psychologists (Bc./Mgr.) have a comprehensive education, thanks to which they consult, works in HR, clinics, counseling centers or in schools.

Therapists complete psychotherapy trainings (see https://czap.cz/O-psychoterapii) in order to help people achieve goals and manage difficulties.

The most important thing is that you feel good about the session. It is okay to say if it does not feel like the right fit with a therapist or their approach. In this case, we will be happy to help you find a suitable colleague. You can also use portals such as znamylekar.cz or recommendations from friends.

How to find the right therapist?

The number of sessions may vary. However, our therapeutic approach is often referred to as "brief", as a change can occur after just a few sessions.

How many visits will be needed?

Our goal is always that clients feel safe with us and can be open. The therapy is therefore completely confidential, with the exception specified by law (not obstructing or not reporting a crime).

Are the sessions confidential?
